Message from the Secretary General
In adherence to the Chicago Convention of 1944, which advances cooperation among nations, the Roberts Flight Information Region was established on 17th January 1975 by the Governments of Guinea Conakry, Liberia and Sierra Leone with the foremost objective of providing expeditious and safe air traffic services to users of our airspace.
We have come a long way since 1975, We began with three (3) VHF stations to cover our airspace, and later added two (2) additional stations.
We have come a long way since 1975, We began with three (3) VHF stations to cover our airspace, and later added two (2) additional stations.
Apart from the recent investment, we have a demand of migrating from AIS (Aeronautical Information Services) to AIM (Aeronautical Information Management). It is a massive investment that must be made in the soonest future, if not immediately. At present, all of our active duty Controllers are trained up to Radar Control from institutions abroad. Our Engineers are also trained proportionately to maintain this new equipment.
